Hunan University Responds to Research Students' Plagiarism

On the evening of November 3, Hunan University responded to a heated topic on Weibo about its 2016 Master in Software Engineering graduate student who was accussed of 100% copying another student's thesis word by word, also known as global plagiarism.
The university identified the graduated student whose master's thesis constituted academic misconduct as Chen Jie. It also confirmed that his Master's degree has been revoked according to relevant regulations.
His professor, Tang Kelong, was disqualified as a graduate student's mentor as well.

On the notice posted on Weibo, it also said that Hunan University adheres to zero tolerance for academic misconduct and will deeply reflect, strengthen its management.
